My Start.

I was a late starter to Nursing, not that I had not started right out of boarding school. I in fact did, back in the late 1960's, but being in Nursing Class, Hospital based training back in the day of Matrons and Sisters and 11pm curfews was just too much for me. I could not focus and complete the job and so I really did not get into my Nursing career proper until much later in life. I was in fact forty and a single mother by the time I went back to Nursing School to complete the training and become an RN. I fairly flew through the 3 year Diploma Course with flying colours thanks to my earlier attempts and some years spent in the medical branch of the RNZN where I garnered quite a lot of experience. ( not only in Nursing mind but thats another story altogether). I think too when I went back to school I was finally ready to knuckle under and put in the time and effort it was going to take to finally be able to pin that medal to my chest and say.. I did it.
